To me, advertising is all about the image. It’s the words that create the relationship between the viewer and the product they are about to buy. For my company, we use marketing photography as part of the digital marketing strategy. In other words, we use imagery to connect with clients, raise awareness, and promote our products.
For my own photography business, I’ve long looked at photography as a creative medium since I believe, like many professional photographers, it allows the viewer to create an image in their minds or on paper. In other words, it’s the process of making the image that is important, not the image itself.

Commercial photography is all about the quality of the image, and it is the idea that we are always trying to achieve high quality images that we want to put in our advertisements. In order to make a company’s ads work, they need to include something that is unique. A company’s ads do not have to look like the pictures that people see in the gallery. When a company puts in an image that is unique in the gallery, they lose out on some sales and/or some of their competitors are now using that image in their ads. Because they didn’t include the image in the gallery, they are now forced to put in a different image that is distinct.
