I am not a huge fan of teachers. I am a firm believer in the theory that, if you haven’t learned it by the time you are 12, you have to have it by the time you are 40. For me, life’s teachers are the people closest to me. I was always a little too close to my father and my mother, who is now deceased.

I am sorry to say that my father, my mother, and my grandfather were all taught that lying and cheating were the only two things in life that were acceptable. When I was 9, my mother started teaching me that the most important thing in life was to be truthful. She taught me that we can never be dishonest and that there is no point in lying to others. She also said that there are no rules to lying, but that there are some rules to being truthful.

This was a lesson that I was to learn from my grandmother, who always told me that what mattered was to be truthful. To her, lying was just not necessary. I remember her telling me that lying was not worth the consequences, but she also told me that lying was the only way to go. I learned this from her, and it still drives me to keep telling the truth.
