For the life of me, I love being back in the kitchen at night and doing my yoga in the morning. My husband and I spend a lot of time at the kitchen tables, and I try to keep it nice and quiet. So, we start small each day and find a way to get creative with the things that are out there.
I think one of the things I enjoy most about the kitchen is the aromas. I love the way the food smells, the way the spices from the various spices set the air on fire. And now that I’m at home every night, I don’t feel like I have to leave the kitchen to go to the kitchen in the morning. I can be anywhere, really.
But the kitchen doesn’t always feel that way. Our friends at sara jean underwood yoga in Los Angeles were quite vocal about how annoying it is to have to get up super early to shop for fresh produce. They’re trying to change that with their new location, and they have a new line of snacks for the kitchen that are all made with real ingredients and are, apparently, better tasting than supermarket brands.
I think we can all agree that we spend a lot of time (most of it early morning) shopping for produce and cooking in the kitchen. We also spend a lot of time watching cooking shows on TV.
Well, that’s sort of what we love about it. There’s nothing like a good cooking show to get us fired up for work.
Yes, it’s true that we spend a lot of our leisure time shopping around for produce/cooking/sleeping in the kitchen, but it’s also true that we tend to fall asleep pretty quickly during that time. While the shopping is fun, the sleeping in the kitchen is an important part of our lives. We both have jobs – I’m the one making breakfast at my day job, and she works from 9 A.M. to 7 P.M.
Well, lets face it, we don’t have a lot of time. We really don’t, so we need some help. We need to be able to get some sleep, and while we can’t really sleep through our jobs, we can get some shut-eye by spending a little extra time at our favorite online yoga instructors. Or, if we’re feeling adventurous, we can go out and do some more yoga.
So let’s talk about yoga. What do yoga classes teach us about ourselves? Well, we learn a lot about how to relax and take care of our bodies, how to feel better about who we are, how to be more confident, etc. But we also learn a lot about how to be more present, how to be in the moment, how to be present to others and how to communicate with them.
And we also learn about our relationship with our bodies, how we can control our own bodies, and how we can control how others feel about us. For example, when we focus on our own bodies our internal clock gets a little more synchronized which makes it easier to take care of ourselves. When we stop trying to control our bodies, we can relax and just let go.
