It was one of those years that we thought would never end. I was already in my mid-20s, single, and living in a tiny apartment with only two other roommates. I’m actually really not sure how to begin to get my head around it. We’re talking about a young adult living on the edge of a city called Cairo in Egypt, and we’re talking about a young woman living in a small apartment in a small town in a middle-of-nowhere state that is on the edge of an urban center.
